Setting: First St. James' Park, Then Elsewhere
Status: Private (Mictain and Raphael -- complete)
Summary: Mictain and Raphael meet again.
Rating:

Mictain ran a clawed hand through his red-streaked hair for the umpteenth time. There was nothing self-confident in the gesture now, no matter how he had perfected it to give off the feeling of perfect self-confidence and power. Now it was just his old shelf showing through -- a sign of nervousness.

The very same sign that had got him into this whole mess to begin with.

Well, this time it wouldn't be a mess. He could do this, really, he could. He would meet Raphael, and he would make Raphael believe that he would never hurt him again, and, eventually, he would have Raphael back.

That was how it would go. Really, it was. There was no need to be nervous.

Still his whole being was thrumming with nervousness as he neared St. James' park. The part that loved Raphael was inwardly weeping at what he'd done to the beautiful being, while the part that simply lusted after the healer was determined not to repeat its mistake. Obviously having the healer by force wouldn't work, so he would try a different approach. Even his most demonic instincts were ready to obey the loving part's will if it meant the possibility of having Raphael.

Mictain was perhaps not terribly bright, but, unlike Uriel, he could concentrate. Wehn he got his mind set on something, he went on until he got what he wanted, regardless of any outside interference. And what he wanted now, what he had wanted for over two millennia now, was Raphael.

To get Raphael, he would do anything.

Black wings shining in the sun, he landed close to the duck pond.

There was pain, even this time, but he let it slide by without a reaction. Instead he focused on the sensations and pleasurable feelings and smiled, smiled and clutched and nodded in appreciation.

It was a long time coming and their time might be brief, but for a moment it was all worthwhile.

He nodded.

"Yeah," he said softly. "It's fine."

He was slightly apprehensive but the other's rather sudden and somewhat (though not completely) unexpected gentleness made it much easier. He lay in wait and tried not to tense up.

A kiss back and then...

"Keep going It's OK. I'll be fine," he whispered, his body thrumming and wishing to hurry.

But he would go at whatever pace his partner dictated.

The healer didn't speak, he simply felt and kissed, showing how much he enjoyed the experience. Inside, however, he exulted.

They were wrong... It can be fixed. It's alright now.

Everything is better.

And he shifted just a little in order to lean his head back on the pillow.

They built and built until there was a final burst at the end and he slumped, exhausted, against Mic. He was tired and wanted nothing more than to sleep for a long while and forget about ever having to leave.

He didn't want to go back to the manor, though - something he probably ought to mention.

"Mic?" He said softly, his eyes closed. "What would you think about me... going home for a while?

"Up there?"

"I'll... I'll try," he said, not wanting to make a promise he couldn't keep. He would miss Mic, but his want to go home was sharp inside of him, wearing him down.

"Thank you, though," he said, a little surprised at being let go so easily.

Comfortable, he fell asleep, relaxed and rather hopeful.

He didn't know what time it was when he finally woke up. This time, however, he didn't budge. Instead, he simply continued to lie in his position, soaking in the heat and breathing softly, waiting for Mic to wake up.

"Very well," he replied. "Very well indeed."

He sat up, still keeping Mic's arm around him and tugging the sheets along with him.

"So - shall we get started on the rest of our little break? The time is short; let's not waste it.

"What would you like to do first?"

"I was. And that sounds lovely," he whispered.

He stood to dress and face the next precious few days that awaited them.
