Summary: Loki wants his problem fixed

“Czernobog?”

“You.” Czernobog frowns. “Not again.”

“I just came to talk.” Loki promises. “Five minutes and I’m gone.”

“Taking what else with you?”

“Just myself.” In fact he’s planning on leaving with one thing less than he arrived with. “Look, I’m really sorry about that unfortunate affair. I didn’t mean it to get out of hand like that. It was just supposed to be a little joke.”

“Joke?”

“I should have remembered that one shouldn’t mix pills with alcohol, I know, but there wasn’t any real harm, was there?” He looks contrite. It’s one of his most practised acts, so it should look genuine. “And I did pay for all the damages and return your hammer.”

“That you did.” Czernobog confirms.

“I set everything back to rights.” Loki says. “So, will you as well?”

Czernobog blinks. “Will I what?”

“Take it back?” Loki begs. “Please?”

“Take what back?”

“Your curse.” Loki reminds him. “You punished me, remember?”

“That actually worked?” he sounds surprised.

Well, he was rather out of it at the time thanks to the pills and alcohol, unable to even get one sentence together. Yet apparently his powers were working just fine.

“It worked.” he confirms. “And it’s rather annoying. So could you please?”

“Come here.” Czernobog touches his hand and Loki does his best not to flinch. “I really ought to leave you like this. Might teach you something.”

But he won’t. Loki almost smiles in relief. He can feel Czernobog’s power rushing into him and ...

Something’s wrong. Czernobog closes his eyes, wrinkles his brows in concentration and the rush of power increases, becomes almost painful.

And then it’s over and Czernobog look at him with something that might almost be pity.

“I can’t undo it.” he says. “I don’t know how I even did this. I don’t know how to unravel it.”

“C ... can’t?” No! No, no, no! It can’t be. What is he going to do?

“You’ll have to try one of the healing gods.” Czernobog advises almost gently. “I don’t understand healing. Not like they do.”

“I already did.” he admits. “Happened across Aesculapius two days ago, so ... He said only you would know how to undo it.”

He looks at Czernobog pleadingly. Even though he doesn’t know what he’s asking for. What more can Czernobog do? He just tried.

“The humans have made much progress with these things lately.” Czernobog states. “Their way is slow and unpleasant, but you’re strong. It’ll teach you a lesson.” He grins. “And now get out!”

He does. What else can he do? What is he going to do? See a human doctor?

“Oh fuck!” Kicking the wall doesn’t really help either, but he gives it a good one anyway.
