The cab pulled up in front of Selfridges and Ellie stepped out with alacrity, flashing Bob a brilliant smile and handing over a generous wad of cash to make up for the distinctly unsettling atmosphere of the ride. "Thanks hon." She hoped the store wouldn't be too crowded today. The Sphinx didn't strike her as much of a people person.

"Where shall we head first?" she asked her companion, running through the store's departments in her head. She was always on the lookout for nice lingerie, but the Sphinx needed more substantial wardrobe components, and of course there were accessories to consider, and shoes, and the cosmetics counter...on second thought, they probably wouldn't have time for the park, or for a very long lunch.

"I was just having some fresh air", the sphinx said. "Do you think I'm in London for the first time? Of course I don't get lost." Badly, anyway. Sphix gave Ellie a glare just in case she would dare suggest differently. She had just eaten, though, and was on a good mood, so she didn't stay irritated for long.

"You have what you wanted now, don't you?" Sphix said. "Shall we go look for some shoes?"

"Surely," Ellie said, handing over the bags containing the Sphinx's new clothes. "Here's your stuff. They have some darling pumps on sale..."

Sphix followed Ellie to the shoe department. Some new footwear would be useful, she thought. While the shoes didn't suffer the same abuse most of her clothes did, she hadn't had that many in the first place. Shoes hadn't been the first thing she had been thinking when she had been forced to leave her old life behind. Yes, she decided, she definitely needed some new shoes. And a purse. Some plastic bags did have such unfortunate holes in them, after all... and blood was tricky to was out completely.
