The inside of the store was pretty much exactly as promised; practical and yet stylish, at least as far as Shadow could tell, and dull but unobtrusive American pop songs played softly in the background. Feeling awkward, Shadow made his way over to a rack of dark jeans.
"Um, I'm not much of a fashion expert," he said. "I know that darker jeans are considered more classy and lighter jeans are more casual, but other than that you're best bet is probably to work off of what you've seen Pip- um, Pepper wearing."
